Hi, just tested with RC36 two departures from Aspen,CO (KASE, elev. 7800ft.), either with and without flag checkGroundElevation set. I still have the "3000ft." issue. I filed FL150, delivery authorized initial 9000ft (which is not enough to avoid mountains btw) and then center ordered to turn and to descend to 3000ft. I send you debug file for test without flag set, but also with flag set I have the same behavior.
Tried your flight now, I get last descent call to FL 84. Very strange. I'll make different tests. Can you describe your flight? Did you speeded up it? Moved the plane on the map? If yes that's ok, is definitely a bug, but I need more info in order to replicate it. I'll send you a version with further debugs line about the detected landing airport altitude, it can help understand what's happening.

I just did a flight with RC36 and ground elevation check enabled. It did not crash. But, once again, after being handed off to approach (KCVG in this case), I received one vector instruction and nothing from ATC again. I deliberately let the flight continue for another 100 nm just to see what happens. You may recall that I reported this issue with previous RC versions too. I can't tell if it is just random or if there is a common root cause. But I do know that I never ran into that problem with 0.59. My flight was KEKM to KCVG. See attached logs. Thanks.
trying now : )

I was anyway more concerned about the crashes, are so they fixed ?
It did not crash on that flight. But i will do a few more and let you know.

No speedup, no plane moved on map. Happy to test the new version. My mentioned flights begin already on assigned rwy at Aspen,CO. I am using Laminar Beech Baron with the so-called "Double Trouble" tweaks. I have Xchecklist, FlyWithLua (+ BetterClouds, WhiteoutInClouds, XPRealisticCockpitSound scripts), HeadShake, XlinSpeak, SkunkCraftUpdate (for freeware Aerobask Robin), AviTab (for freeware vFlyteair Navion) as plugin installed
Usually I take off at full throttle 2700rpm then after gear up reduced to 2500 for climb. Cowl flaps open, fuel pumps on, props sync'ed as per B58 checklist. Could it be that airport altitude is too close to first authorized altitude 9000ft., so that when plugin authorizes me to it, I'm already beyond it and plugin gets "confused"?
I'll ask you to test it again on the next build, where I added more debug info, and we'll see. Thanks for your feedback.

I have not had any crashes since I disabled the ground elevation check.
Thanks doc124,
If you can give a try with the option enabled and the last version.
Thanks, a.

I replicated the flight, no issue. Handover to approach, so to tower, so cleared to land. I'll try again.

I flew my KELP-KIND route(crashed due to probe before) with RC36 elevation check on and did not have a crash to desktop. I will try to test some of the other flights in the forum to see if I can duplicate any crashes.

Thanks,

Just a final remark. I tested same flight but taking off from another Aspen apt (CO03, a dirt strip elev. 8300ft) gave no trouble at all. So my guess about the airport altitude too close to 9000 ft is busted.

I have done 2 different flights in Italy (using XP10.51r2) using RC36, first one LIRF to LIPQ, I flew without problems and the descent message included the "to" comment (descent to 3000 feet), I was impressed, second flight LIPQ to LIML, but this time the "to" comment was missing from the request to descend, I enclose a screen shot of this second flight, unfortunately I didn't get a screen shot of when it did work.

I flew from KIND-KGSO with no issues. RC36 and x plane 11.34

Looks like you are a lot closer to a release my friend.

I'll try to get some other tests in the Rocky Mountains, this covered flying over the Appalachian Mountains (7000 feet) into North Carolina.

Thanks,

John

Many thanks guys for your valuable help testing the plugin.
I've been really busy in the last days, I'll back to the plugin development in the next hours to kill up the last bugs.

Regarding RC36 I've been flying everyday without a crash since released with ground detection active.

Had same issue XP11.34 on Ubuntu 16.04. Tried to replicate the flight from LIPQ to LIML mentioned as successful by SHaneD (but for missing "to" in messages) but also I crashed when inserting flight plan. LIPQ has no Ground or Delivery so first call for fp insertion is to Twr. I add the logs as usual
