HI
Before subscribing to the forum I tested 124thATC for a couple of weeks which is very pleasant even if various abstruses make it scarcely usable. I'm running XP 11 and automatically update navdata with Navigraph. I report some considerations to understand if only I see these drawbacks.
1: the SID waypoints are recognised, but if the procedures are too "complicated", the route communicated by the ATC is always the one that leads directly to the last point of the SID without following those indicated.
2: In the Flight information view (which appears on the left of the screen when the relative box in the Options is set) the flight levels, even if inserted in the "<wpt>.FL.###" form required by the plugin, are always shown with cruise level, while in the “LastFlightPlan.txt” file they appear correctly as entered. The consequence is that, during the flight, the ATC does not communicate the necessary level changes and the FAF of the Approach would still be reached at the cruise flight level since, even when descending voluntarily, the ATC would always communicate to go back to the level of cruising.
3: But the most unnerving thing is that after the last wpt of the FightPlan (and first of the STAR), the plugin goes crazy and indicates incoherent, deviant headings, when what I call the "Curse of the 190° Heading" does not appear, i.e. which, instead of flying the STAR, takes the aircraft to destinations as improbable as they are extraneous to the route. Why this recurring heading?...
Now the plugin would be very useful for practicing ATC communications and making flights more realistic. But with these difficulties, one is not encouraged to use it as much as one would like. I read in the forum that the plugin may not be in line with some aircraft even if in my numerous tests I have never encountered any incompatibility. If this were the case, however, it would be a further limitation as not everyone flies with the giants of the sky. It would be silly discrimination against those flying aircraft not equipped with FMC since IFR is the preserve of everyone even those flying GA. I use an Aerobask Eclipse 550 NG and would really enjoy this plugin as I am not interested in switching to liner aircrafts. However, I would be more serene if my difficulties came from my incorrect use of the plugin and someone pointed it out to me. Thanks.
